Some people think this state of our nation is only temporary. Some people thinks it might be the end of everything, only when they say the end they don't mean the end of being, only that things will not change from this way, that this will be the end of change. Well I say they are all wrong. Mostly they're all right as people go, only they don't want to listen, not like I'm saying I have the truth but that they won't accept anything as the truth that is not their own long held belief.

Well it's all a bit too funny, now isn't it. How the first have become last, how folks like me and mother are the same as before give or take a few and those who had feel that they now have nothing. Of course it's more than nothing, but by now they can't tell what something is.

Well ain't it all very funny. Elbows and good night all.

Dear Ophelia,

Please know that I am no stalker ex-boyfriend. First of all, I am a lady. Furthermore, I am a friend of peacocks and some sheep (they told me to say that - really we just met and I am a little bit afraid of them as I have heard they are killers) and I enjoy your poetry when I find it on this internet. I am only a resident of Georgia USA but I hope you and I can be friends and correspondents. Please let me know what you think.

Sincerely,
Flannery
